We are pleased to offer our georeferenced trail maps for use by offroad and UTV enthusiasts in Arizona in ten-map downloadable collections for $25!.

First, what is a georeferenced map? In short, it is a PDF file that has map coordinates embedded into the file that can be read by the internal GPS systems that are found in IOS and Android devices - phones and tablets - and used in concert with satellite imagery and the graphics processors in those devices to provide constantly updated and displayed position information.

The PDF file is read and displayed using a free app called Avenza Maps, which can be downloaded and installed from the Apple Store and Google Play on IOS and Android devices. Tap the instruction tab above for information on how to install and use the app on your phone and tablet.

What makes the resulting maps so useful for offroad use is that, once the maps are downloaded to your device they operate without the need for WiFi, phone  or internet signals... perfect for use in some of the more remote, and extreme, areas of the state. As long as your phone or tablet has GPS satellites in view, the app will work perfectly.  As for accuracy, as we have tested all the maps once we rode the trails to obtain GPS tracks, the map position display is accurate to within two meters in the worst case.  The only time we had an issue while collecting data for the trails was in a narrow box canyon with steep walls; that "blackout" only lasted one hundred yards until we were out of the canyon.

Thanks to the compression algorithms we utilized while creating the files, the download size has been kept small; the largest and most detailed of the maps comes in at under 40 MB, while most are in the 20 MB to 30 MB range, all of which makes for quick downloads!

We are offering the maps in lots of ten trails, broken down into geographical areas of the state; Northern, Eastern, Western trails are covered and more trails will be added as we import the data we have collected into our maps.
